ABOUT THE SINTRA MYTHS & LEGENDS INTERPRETATIVE CENTRE

Unveil the enchanting world of Sintra's myths and legends at the Sintra Myths and Legends Interpretative Centre, inaugurated in the summer of 2016 within the central tourist office building. Occupying 17 rooms spread across four floors, this unparalleled attraction offers a captivating exploration of Sintra's rich cultural tapestry.

Begin your journey on the third floor, where panoramic vistas of Sintra's landscape greet visitors, accompanied by an introduction to the region's geological wonders. Discover the composition of the Serra de Sintra massif, comprising five distinct types of rock spread across its ten-kilometre (7 mi) expanse.

Venture to the second floor to delve into Sintra's historical narratives and legendary tales, including the intriguing stories of the Magpies, Cova da Moura, and Friar Honório. Immerse yourself in the blending of Portuguese chivalry, ancient pagan rituals, and Christian heritage that have shaped Sintra's identity.

Descend to the first floor for a deeper exploration of Sintra's mythology, unravelling the mysteries surrounding landmarks like the tomb of the two brothers and the legends of Seteais and Peninha. Take the IC19 from Lisbon, IC30 from Mafra or EN9 turning off the A5 motorway to Cascais

The Scotturb buses #434 & #435 leaves from Sintra Train station and takes you to the Old Town Sintra.
