Praia do Magoito boasts a breathtaking backdrop of towering cliffs that stretch across the horizon, setting the scene for a stunning coastal experience. This expansive beach features shimmering golden sands punctuated by scattered rocks, whilst its pristine turquoise waters are renowned for their high iodine content. Accessible from the northern side via a gently sloping pavement flanked by ancient fossilised dunes, visitors can follow the path from the village of Magoito to reach the beach, offering picturesque views of Cabo da Rocha along the way. Praia do Magoito offers excellent amenities, including several restaurants and convenient public showers and toilets. With powerful waves attracting surfers year-round and numerous rock pools providing safe havens for little ones, this beach remains a serene escape despite its proximity to Sintra, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its rugged natural beauty.
There a couple of restaurants at the top of the path to the beach: the Marisqueira Duna Mar serves a range of different dishes, and the Maria Buxinha serves typical Portuguese cuisine. More eateries can be found in Magoito village itself. | |
