KLAUS OHNSMANN MUSEUM

Klaus Ohnsmann is an award-winning German painter of international standing who has made Sintra his home. With Sintra as his present theme, he has held many exhibitions in Spain, Germany, and Portugal. Ohnsmann has opened up his studio to the public in addition to exhibition space celebrating 20 years of his work. The artist intended to show visitors Sintra through his artistic eyes. The work displayed is constantly being renewed and kept fresh. As well as the museum, there’s a garden where you can lose yourself in your thoughts. There’s other recreational space and a cafeteria at hand too. Ohnsmann is quite happy to allow people to watch him paint, believing is to break down any barrier between artist and viewer. A visit to the Klaus Ohnsmann Museum is a rare yet delightful insight into a creative mind at work.

Getting to the Klaus Ohnsmann Museum

The museum is located up hill on a narrow road which leads up to the Castle and Pena Palace. Entance is gained through the Costa do Castelo road.

Take the IC19 from Lisbon, IC30 from Mafra or EN9 turning off the A5 motorway to Cascais.
